Kevin is an experienced litigator, who has been named as a Super Lawyer Rising Star (2019-2020). Before moving to Charlotte, Kevin practiced law in Athens, Georgia as a civil litigator. Kevin is a graduate of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyer’s Division Leadership Academy, Western Circuit Young Lawyers Division Past-President, and past Board Member of the Western Circuit Bar Association, and is currently an active member of his local bar association. Additionally, Kevin served on the boards of Family Connection-Communities in Schools and the Georgia Children’s Chorus.Kevin G. Sweat is a trial lawyer and counselor at law who represents clients in various matters before all levels of courts. In his practice, Kevin focuses on resolving client issues in a fair and efficient manner, ensuring the best resolution is reached through conflict resolution and creative problem solving.
Kevin grew up in Athens, Georgia and received his B.A., cum laude from American University in Washington, D.C. He double-majored in Political Science and C.L.E.G., an interdisciplinary major program that combines studies in communications, law, economics, and government. While in college, Kevin interned on Capitol Hill for Representative John Barrow (GA) and Senator Bill Nelson (FL).
A graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, Kevin worked as a prosecutor under Georgia’s third year practice act and for a corporate defense firm while receiving his degree. Kevin enjoys remaining active in his community through work on campaigns and service organizations.
